Stewardship Lead and/or Assistant(s)
What is your role as a volunteer?
The two positions work together to ensure that all funding sources (offering, missions, yard sale, retreat, etc.) are accurately accounted for and designated. At year-end, the Stewardship Lead issues Statements of Giving to congregation members and provides some analysis to Treasury. In addition, the Stewardship Lead performs preliminary review of reimbursement forms for expenses incurred out-of-pocket for church-related activities.
What qualities and specific skills do you need?
Detail oriented; Knowledge of/willingness to learn Excel (for Lead role)
Why join this ministry?
The Stewardship Team plays an important administrative role in the week-to-week operations of the church so that funding is available and provides accountability to the congregation that their offering is properly accounted for and recorded.
How much time do I need to commit?
About 20 minutes every Sunday to count the offering (Lead maintains the paperwork/data and emails weekly figures to Treasury every week); ~30 minutes to make a deposit every couple of weeks (traded b/n Lead and Assistant); Lead: few hours at year end to generate Statements of Giving and provide year-end analysis
