Ministry’s vision:
We believe that as followers of Christ, we are to extend to others the grace that God has shown us and “invite others to Him”. This group exists to challenge and mobilize the PPC body by expanding our spiritual scope beyond the church to the world around. All this is to foster in each individual a sense of eternal perspective in the work God is doing. Jesus’ heart has been and is always with the lost and the needy. Missions, overseas as well as domestically, is not a calling for the select few; it’s a mandate from God (Matt 28:19-20).
About the team:
This team focuses on sending missionaries (overseas/domestic, short-term/long-term), mobilizing the church and supporting missionaries and different ministry organizations.
Examples of ministries PPC is involved with:
- Short-term missions trips (Central Asia, Dominican Republic)
- Volunteering at a family shelter
- Compassion International
- Operation Christmas Child
- Missionaries support
What positions are we looking for more volunteers?
Mobilizers, pray-ers, volunteers for local ministries, volunteers to start new outreach ministries, anyone interested in short term missions, supporters.
What is your role as a volunteer?
Pray, help out with outreach events/ministries, increase awareness of “missions” in PPC.
What qualities and specific skills do we need?
None. This is not only for those who have a “heart” for the lost. God will give you that heart. But if you already have a heart for reaching out to the community or to the world, this is a great opportunity to serve.
Why join this ministry?
Because God’s heart is with the lost, the needy, the poor, the hungry.
What kind of commitment is expected?
Monthly meetings, commitment to pray
Testimonial by Heeki Park:
“Outreach team last year was a real blessing. While the focus was ultimately outward, it began inward. We shared our struggles regarding our personal and congregational outreach, prayed and then prayed some more. Through sharing and praying, God really transformed the group and helped us in our desire and efforts to mobilize the church. Our team was particularly blessed when we saw the number of people in our congregation who participated in missions over the summer, both as go-ers and as senders. Come help fan the flame that God is growing!”
